Mosquito Spraying - (Mitchell, S & Leone, L). Our new county service provided us with one spraying per week with no rain dates. After much discussion and concern that spraying has been ineffective, a motion was made at the Annual Meeting to suspend spraying for the 2025 season and revisit the topic at the next Annual Meeting. Although the motion and vote were done according to per our Bylaws and Robert’s Rules, the Board found this issue to be too important to leave to a 15% minority on the spur of the moment. S. Mitchell made a Motion to have a mail vote and L. Leone seconded, with the remainder of the Board all in favor. This will occur before the end of the year.
New Business
North Carolina Clothing & Household Goods Drive – (Silverman, J & Simpler, D). This effort was a great success, as seven large crates of clothing and small household appliances were collected. These will be delivered to Smithfield, NC (arranged through the Disabled American Vets). A big Thank You to the Silverman’s for hosting!!!
