ELK FOREST CIVIC ASSOCIATION, MEETING MINUTES - April 3, 2025

Call to Order was at 6:35 PM
Quorum was verified – LaPense (F)
Previous Minutes Review – LaPense (F). A motion was made to approve the Minutes, it was seconded, and all were in favor.
Treasurer’s Report – Megahed, L (See attached). A motion was made to approve the Financial Report, it was seconded, and all were in favor. Dues were collected from 71 out of 106 households.
Old Business
Website Report – (Mitchell, D) The website is averaging five hits per day.
Mosquito Spraying - (Mitchell, S) The community vote of mailed ballots was 2:1 to continue spraying with the County. Rates have not increased since last year and remain at $35 per 15-minute period in the neighborhood. This year’s season will begin earlier this year, in the June timeframe. It will be confirmed what is needed (paperwork) for either permission to enter or declined spraying.
Because weather significantly reduced the number of sprays we had in 2024, the Board voted to reduce EFCA membership to $25 for 2025. A motion was made to accept this change and was seconded.
2025 Holiday Party was a success, with 47 people in attendance.
New Business
Spring Cleanup – Scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd, 9AM on corner of Elk Forest and Forest Rds
Neighborhood Vandalism – Four various incidents of vandalism have occurred in the neighborhood since Fall, 2024. These included destruction of publice and private property. No police report was filed as the items were found and recovered.
Please report any incidents to police and the Civic Association.
Progressive Dinner – This 2025 first event is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, May 3rd, tentatively for 5PM. The theme will be Cinco de Mayo, where an adult beverage and appetizer will be featured at participating households. Flyers to be delivered this week and a schedule and menu will be decided based on replies.
Annual Meeting – This event is scheduled for Saturday, August 2nd at the Hembree home, 1420 Elk Forest Road, and with a Raindate of August 3rd.
